Sarah's 2nd Birthday

Since my parents were coming to town a few days after Sarah's birthday, we put off her party for an extra week. We still had a special day for her actual birthday, though.
We started the day with new birthday pajamas. She wore them once and then they disappeared. Kelson found them several days later stuffed inside one of the end tables. Silly Sarah.
 Birthday pancakes! Sarah loves pancakes.
We spent the day doing all of Sarah's favorite things-play dough, stuffed animals, tea parties, going to the park, and watching shows together. I had to go out for a couple of hours in the afternoon, so she got to play with Daddy. When I got home, I opened the door to a very happy, stark naked Sarah with an excited greeting for me. She had just finished a sink bath, another of her favorite activities.
Her shirt never quite made it back on after the sink bath. She sported this stylish cardigan look to Coldstone for ice cream to end the day.
The next week, after Grandma & Grandpa got here, we had a birthday party for her at Bluebird Gap Farm, a free city park in Hampton that has all kinds of farm animals.
Sarah had so much fun with the animals!
Sheep! Sarah makes the cutest sheep noise ever.
Checking out the horse with Grandma
We didn't get too close to the llamas.
Sarah has a couple of books with peacocks in them, and she was super excited to meet a real one.
They had a cute reading pavilion in the middle of the garden. Sarah was more interested in rearranging the chairs than reading with Grandma.

We finally pulled her away from lounging in the chairs with an offer of chocolate cupcakes.
Yum! She was not a fan of the cherry filling, however. She refused to touch any piece of chocolate cake that had a speck of "pink sauce" on it.

It didn't take long to catch on to the fun of opening presents.
She got a diaper bag, doll accessories, a bath xylophone, a puzzle, and a book. A great birthday!
