Kate: 3 Months

Our Kate is 3 months old!

  •  Kate is smiling up a storm! The best time to catch her smiles is right after she eats. Both of her siblings love trying to get smiles out of her.
  • Growing like crazy
  • Definitely the best sleeper this family has ever seen. She goes to sleep between 7 and 8 and usually only wakes up once during the night. Once she even slept for 12 straight hours! She doesn't get up for the morning until around 9. When it is time to sleep, we just lay her in her rock-n-play or on her boppy pillow with her pacifier and she fades off on her own. It is so wonderful to enjoy a little baby without a cloud of sleep deprivation!
  • Loves looking at anything hanging over her face, especially ceiling fans, mirrors, and the teddy bear mobile on her crib. The teddy bears make her smile every time.
  • In the last week or two, she has finally outgrown her newborn clothes and is comfortably in 0-3 month sizes.
  • Not a fan of tummy time.
  • She has the most beautiful eyelashes! Everyone is jealous of them.

Bum ruffles! I didn't really sew for Sarah when she was this tiny. It is so fun seeing Kate in the tiny outfits I made before she was born.
Sarah has a dress exactly like this that is one of her favorites. She requested an exact replica for Kate. It is a fortunate coincidence that Sarah's favorite elephant can steal the dress when Kate is done.

Needing a little more sleep while relaxing on her pillow in the morning.
When we received this as a baby gift, it looked like she would never grow into it. Look at her now!

While she is willing to go to sleep on her own, Kate loves snuggle naps.
Kate had a major blowout at the library one day, and I realized I didn't have a backup outfit. Elephant to the rescue. Kate stole her dress. Apparently I'm not just spoiling Sarah by making adorable clothes for her stuffed animal.
Sarah has an adorable baby doll to play with. Just the right size for the doll crib.
Almost every day when we pick Sarah up from school, Kate falls asleep right before we get home and then lays there in her carseat in the middle of all of the lunchtime chaos and snoozes away. This is the quilt that Sarah made for Kate for Christmas.
I just love these baby smiles!
It is such a relief for this baby to finally be nursing like a pro. Chris took this picture, and it makes me happy just because it was a journey to get here with Kate.
The ceiling fan above Mom's bed is one of Kate's favorite things to stare at.
Once again, snoozing through the chaos that is our house. Big sister brought her a doll to snuggle.

We love you, Kate!
