Easter 2019

I love Easter. It is a special time to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and to enjoy special family traditions. Easter at Grandma's house is always especially fun.

 Egg dying is Grandpa's specialty. The kids all had fun dying eggs with him.

 Since she is the funnest grandma ever, my mom (with some help from Katy and I), blew out a couple of dozen eggs and then filled them with paint. The kids threw them at a canvas in the garden. Chris didn't want to wear a stylish garbage bag smock, so he got to be shirtless. Yes, he looks like a redneck child.

 The boys weren't too in to the egg throwing, but the girls had a great time.

 Kate got in on the Easter fun too.

 We hunted Easter baskets from Grandma and Grandpa on Saturday. 

 Grandma, again being the funnest grandma ever, gave the kids all silly string in their baskets so they could have a silly string war. After cleaning up the mess, we decided that this will not become a tradition.

On Sunday, we all went to Union so we could go to church with my mom's family and then celebrate with them afterwards. We couldn't get Chris to let go of the lollipop for any of the family photos.

 These kids sure love their grandma & grandpa!

 We all enjoyed chili (traditional Baxter Easter food) for dinner, followed by the traditional Baxter Easter egg & basket hunt.

 These kids had a ridiculous amount of candy. I was tempted to not give them the Easter baskets I had prepared for them back at home, but we went ahead with another basket hunt back at Grandma's that evening.

 Sarah was very excited about her new markers and a baby for her Lil Woodzeez

 Chris got a Lego Easter egg hunt. It was super cute.

 I made Kate and Sarah coordinating swiss dot dresses with hand-embroidered flowers. Those dresses were a labor of love. I also tried my hand at tie-making and made matching ties for Chris and Kelson. I didn't have time for cute photos in their matching outfits on Easter, so I made them get dressed up again the next Sunday. It was not the most successful photo shoot.

 Kate was not a fan of this whole outdoor photo shoot business.

 Sarah was happy to show off her dress. I finished this lovely pink dress, and Sarah was determined to have blue buttons on the back. Fortunately, we were able to compromise on pink hearts. 

And of course a twirl for good measure.

Kate: 5 Months

5 months with our Kate!

Kate has grown and changed a lot this month! We are finally pulling out 3-6 month clothes. She loves to smile, gurgle, and giggle. She gave her first full laugh while we were in the middle of meeting with a doctor for Sarah, and we all had to stop and listen to her. Her happiest times are always when she first wakes up. As happy as she is, when Kate is sad, the world ends. She has the most incredible sad face and pathetic cry. She has discovered toys and loves to grab everything and stick it in her mouth. She also snags anyones hair that gets too close. Her hair is growing in (blonde like our other two), and you just can't help rubbing her fuzzy head. She wants to be held more than she used to, and she wants to stand up on her feet. She is very interested in everything around her. She always has to be held facing out, and if you try to lay her on your lap, she will spend the whole time trying to sit up. 

 Kate hates tummy time so much that she is learning to roll from front to back in order to avoid it. She rolled for the 2nd time ever right after I snapped this photo.

 These two love their little sister. Sarah insists on picking out her clothes every day. It's like having the cutest baby doll ever. Chris loves to talk to Kate and try to make her smile. 

 I am so grateful to be their mom! (and I'm pretty impressed with Sarah's skills with my DSLR camera.)

 Kate's been modeling some more of my 1980's baby clothes. Chris was channeling Uncle Jeremy's overly long toddler hair too.

With nicer weather coming, Kate has finally been able to spend some time outside. This was her first time playing in the yard, and she loved it!

Kate loves to sleep. She went through a few weeks of sleep regression earlier this month, but she is back to sleeping through the night most nights. (This alone may make Kate my favorite child. Don't tell the other two.) She is also a great napper. When we went to the library last week, Kate fell asleep in the car, slept through 1 1/2 hours of library time, slept all the way home, and then slept for another hour on the patio. I wouldn't mind taking a nice nap on the patio!

January-March 2019

Mosier family adventures from the last few months:

 Chris did some pattern and fabric testing for Aunt Amy. He makes a great swimsuit model.

 He loves his trains. I'm impressed by the things he puts together sometimes.

 These guys love to make trouble in my sewing room. Chris's favorite is playing with my collection of buttons. They were once sorted neatly by color. Now they are more often scattered on my floor.

 Sarah received a china tea set for Christmas, and we have been having a lot of tea parties. This one was visited by a princess, a pirate, and a fairy godmother.

 Sarah is quite the artist. I was impressed with her ballerina stick figure. She is all about ballet right now.

 Decorating Valentine cookies

 On Valentine's Day, I picked Sarah up from school and surprised the kids with lunch at Burger King followed by an impromptu trip to Baker City to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Nothing makes these kids happier!

 I promise Kate was happy too.

 Sarah has always loved tucking people in. Chris is a willing subject.

 Doctor is another popular activity at our house. I love the moments when these two play happily together. It doesn't usually last more than 5 minutes without any screaming, but I will take what I can get.

 The kids love playing at the library. They have lots of fun, educational toys to play with. It is a good way to get out of the house.

 Reading books to Chris's best friends, Green Bear and Brown Bear. 

 I'm always pulling this boy off the kitchen counter. I think he was trying to look through the wand, but he missed.

 Can you kick him off the counter when he is that cute? Notice his man-purse. If Sarah gets to wear a purse, Chris must have one too.

 We broke out the fancy china and made chicken cordon bleu and an amazing lemon cake for Grandma's birthday.

 The first weekend of March, we went to Salt Lake City. Kelson was a groomsman at his friend, Pablo's, wedding. It also happened to be the weekend of Disney on Ice, so it worked out for everyone. This was Kate's first vacation, and she did great. 

 The hotel had a spinning chair. Best entertainment ever.

 The kids and I explored temple square while Kelson was in the wedding. It was cold and snowy that weekend, so there weren't a lot of flowers to see, but we found a few poking through. 

 They loved following the pictures of Jesus around the visitor's center and up to the Christus statue. Sarah wanted to stay there and dance to the music. 

 Disney on Ice was so much fun! Kate slept through almost the entire show. Sarah's favorite was Rapunzel because she flew in the air. 

 Best vacation buddy ever.

 I've been working hard at re-establishing an exercise habit since Kate was born, and it can be challenging with three kids at home. Sometimes, we scrap the regular workout, crank up The Greatest Showman soundtrack (which Chris is completely obsessed with), and have a dance party instead. Rewrite the Stars involves a lot of lifts, and dancing with these two is a great workout.

Kelson's first race of the season was a half marathon in Adrian. The kids and I got there 10 minutes too late to see him finish. His goal was 2 hours or less, and his time was 1:55:58.6. Great job, Kelson! The race website accidentally categorized him as a female, which put him finishing in 5th place in his category. We aren't sure where he really placed.
